Due to the advertised Chorley Grand Prix cycling event being held on the local roads around Brinscall around the time we would normally train,
we've decided to cancel training and move it to Chorley instead 5-7pm. At least it gives you some time to get out and cheer on the lads as they cycle around Chorley. Over 100 top cyclists from across the country will descend on Chorley at Easter as the borough kick starts the British elite road racing season. Chorley Council has teamed up with British Cycling and Chorley Building Society to host the Chorley Grand Prix that will see professional riders take on circuits around the borough in the first race of the season. The prestigious event will bring thousands of visitors into Chorley and build on the borough’s enthusiasm for cycling. It will also showcase the beautiful borough to a European audience when the event is broadcast on Eurosport. The Chorley Grand Prix, will be held on Saturday 4 April and take in a 100-mile route. The start and finish line will be in Chorley town centre with the road race taking in Chorley, Rivington, Belmont, Abbey Village, Withnell, Brinscall, Wheelton, Buckshaw Village and back to Chorley. For more details and a map of the route visit the Chorley Grand Prix web page. The riders will complete five laps of the circuit but there will generally be rolling road closures in place, which will mean very minimal disruption to traffic. There will also be plenty of opportunities for spectators to see and cheer on the cyclists so mark the date in your diary now. Please be aware of the following changes to training times, effective from the 7th April on-wards. Mondays - JD to swim 8-9pm @ Chorley Instead of Thursday 7-8pm Tuesday - District session 4:30pm-5:30pm @ Brinscall Cancelled Tuesday - District Spinning Class 5:30-6:45pm @ Chorley Tuesday - District to swim 7-8pm @ Chorley Wednesday - JD to swim 7-9pm instead of 7-8pm @ Chorley Thursday - Improvers to swim 7-8pm Thursday - District 1 lane only swimming 7-8pm @ Chorley Friday - No training for any squad (rest days are important in all sports) There are a few reasons behind these decisions, one was to introduce more pool time for our younger swimmers in the Improvers squad and the other was to introduce a rest day for the swimmers in JD & District squads to recover. We know the changes may not suit everyone but please take into account the difficulty in balancing the needs of the club as a whole. This results in the following timetable: Improvers - 3 hours/week Tuesday: 7 - 8pm Thursday: 7 - 8pm Sunday: 6 - 7pm Junior District - 9 hours/week (inc Land Training) Monday: 8 - 9pm Wednesday: 7 - 9pm Saturday: 10 - 12am (@ Brinscall) Sunday: 8 - 10am (@ Brinscall) Sunday: 6 - 7pm (Land Training in the sports hall) Sunday: 7 - 8pm District - 12 hours/week (inc Land Training & Spinning)
Monday: 8 - 10pm Tuesday: 5:30 - 6:45pm (Spinning Class, upstairs studio @ Chorley) Tuesday: 7 - 8pm (1 lane @ Chorley) Wednesday: 7 - 9pm Thursday: 7 - 8pm (1 lane @ Chorley) Saturday: 10 - 12am (@ Brinscall) Sunday: 8 - 10am (@ Brinscall) Sunday: 6 - 7pm (Land Training in the sports hall) Due to short demand for this years Swim Camp we've decided to run just 1 session and change the time to 10am-12pm.
This swim camp is targeted at Intermediate, Juniors, JD and District squads and will be coached by one of Prestons top coaches as well as underwater camera feedback on stroke technique. There are 4 places left if you're interested then please get your name down on the list on the notice board or comment below. Please be aware of the following closures, so no training as follows:

My name is Sanam Ogden and we live in Chorley, Lancashire. i have a 5 year old daughter who is a good swimmer and a successful fundraiser called Rosanna. she is organising a swimming event, second year running in Chorley on 1st of August 2015. we need 200 swimmers and 30-40 volunteers. Chorley Carnival, Adlington Carnival and Chorley Marshals will be helping us with volunteering jobs. but we need help to get 200 swimmers in. can you please help us in any way you can? Last year we had 80 swimmers and we raised £4000. Rebecca Adlington double gold medallist came along and supported Rosanna and her event. and after that Rosanna won ASA Fundraiser of the year 2014. which was her first national award at age of 4. Rosanna swam a mile a week before her 5th birthday. Rosanna is a heart patient, she was born with a rare type of tumour in her heart called Rhabdomayoma, she was undergone 8 hours heart surgery and survived. unfortunately doctors couldnt remove it all so she is still living with a tumour stuck to her heart, and she needs to be monitored. Rosanna started to do fundraising since she is 2. up to know she raised more than half million Pounds for BHF ( British Heart Foundation ), we would like to help other heart patients like Rosanna. and that's the reason we are doing this. can you please help us to get 200 swimmers from Lancashire? we really need help to have a successful event. for more info you can Google her name: Rosanna Ogden www.rosannaogden.com www.facebook.com/RosannaJ.Ogden https://twitter.com/@RosannaOgden Thanks Regards Sanam Ogden Well done to the 9 swimmers we had representing Chorley Marlins at this years Lancs County Championships they were:
