Swim Manager invoices have been sent out for spectator tickets for tomorrows Southport Shrimps Gala to everyone who requested one. Tickets can be collected in the foyer at the pool tomorrow. A reminder warm up starts at 12:00pm so swimmers need to arrive prior to that.
We have some extra spectator tickets available, we are giving priority to parents of 8/9 year old swimmers. If you would like one please leave a comment below. For swimmers selected for the Shrimps Gala team who swim in Minis, Development Group or Alphas, there will be additional training at 6:00 pm on Saturday 18th at All Seasons. Swimmers who are already there from the 5:00pm session can remain for the additional training.

The Southport Swimming Club Shrimp Gala will take place on Sunday 19th February 2022. The meet will take place at Knowsley Leisure And Culture Park, Longview Drive, Huyton, Liverpool L36 6EG. The warm up will be at 12.00pm.
The Chorley Marlins team sheet for this meet is below. This gala is a friendly team fixture for 9-12 year olds usually between 8 clubs ahead of the upcoming Micro League season that starts at the 26th February for Chorley Marlins swimmers This gala consists entirely of relay events, all of which are 25 metres and there is a total of 35 events. We have received an allocation of 30 tickets for spectators, there will be a maximum of 1 ticket per swimmer / family. If you would like a spectator ticket then please comment below. We will confirm nearer to the time that you have been allocated a ticket and you will be asked to pay in advance, which is £5 per ticket. Please confirm availability in the comments section. There will be no morning training at Brinscall on Sunday 12th February. Intermediates and Junior Squad members can train on Saturday morning 8-10am at Brinscall instead.
Entries open on Friday 10th February for Chorley Marlins Spring Meet to be held on Sunday 12th March, 1:00 - 5:00pm at Darwen Leisure Centre.
This meet is a Club Championship for Chorley Marlins Members from Development Group (50m events only), Alphas, Improvers, Intermediates, Juniors, Junior District, District and Squad. The meet will use eight lanes, 25 metres with anti- turbulence lane ropes. There are no qualifying times – ages as at 12th March 2023. Events include 100m Freestyle, 100m Breaststroke, 100m Backstroke, 100m Butterfly, 100m & 200m IM For Development Group swimmers only – 50m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke, 50m Backstroke, 50m Butterfly. Entry fees - £4.00 per event, plus a £2 gala entry fee per swimmer. Please ensure payment is paid at the time of submission. Payment should be made to the competition account. If payment has not been made and the renewal form not completed before then, swimmers will no longer be insured so will be unable to swim with Club.

Since its launch in 2016, Off the Blocks has provided a growing online hub of information designed by experts for the benefit of those that work at every level of the sport in Great Britain - amassing 281 videos and 206 documents on the platform to date. More than 12,000 users had registered to the previous microsite to access fundamental technique information and explore resources linked to landmark projects including the Optimal Athlete Development Framework (OADF) and Physical Development Programme. The objective of the platform remains the same - to help upskill the teachers and coaches of the next generation of swimmers, and provide an educational destination for parents and athletes. A refreshed layout and design has been implemented to improve accessibility and navigation allowing users to easily explore the growing range of tailored materials. Speedo Off the Blocks remains FREE to the aquatics community in Britain, however all previous users will be required to follow the registration process at https://offtheblocks.info/ and create a new login to continue accessing the new site. The online resources cover technique and include video examples of elite male and female swimmers, plus age group Male & Female exemplars, as well as downloadable factsheets. It also covers land training, nutrition and guidance for parents on how to support their child. Entries will close on 11th February for Burnley Bobcats Racing for Regionals 2022 to be held on 4th and 5th March 2022 at Darwen Leisure Centre.

On Sunday evening due to limited pool space numbers may be limited, priority will be given to swimmers that normally attended the Sunday morning session |
