Swimming Lesson Helper This eLearning will equip you with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to effectively help a swimming teacher deliver a swimming lesson. Who is the eLearning designed for? This eLearning is aimed at anyone aged 14-16 who wants to gain experience and/ or volunteer in swimming lessons. It is perfect for those wishing to pursue a career in swimming teaching but not yet 16 and able to complete their SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification. Format The eLearning will take you approximately 2 hours to complete and will include interactive activities and knowledge checks throughout. At the end of the eLearning there is an assessment to complete; to pass this you need to score 80%. Once you have completed the online learning, you can download a copy of your e-certificate and practical worksheet. We recommend you complete your practical learning worksheet with a suitably qualified swimming teacher. Once you have completed the practical learning worksheet, you will be ready to start your SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification once you turn 16. The main meet is on Sunday 20th November, 12-5pm at Darwen Leisure Centre, The Green, Darwen BB3 1PW. Events for Development Group swimmers only: 50m Butterfly, 100m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, 100m Individual Medley Events for Alpha Squad and above: 200m all strokes, 200m IM, 400m IM, 400m Freestyle. The 800m and 1500m events will take place on Friday 18th November at All seasons Leisure Centre, 7-9:30pm. Open to swimmers from Junior Squad and above on approval of the head coach. Entry fees - 100m, 200m & 400m races £4.00 per race, 800m & 1500m events £6.00 per entry, plus a £2.00 gala entry fee. We would expect to see all Development Group and Squad swimmers entering the gala. Age will be as on Sunday 20th November. Darwen Leisure Centre has excellent facilities, the swimming pool is an 8 lane 25m Regional Short Course Pool with ample tiered spectator seating. As this is our own club gala there are no minimum times needed for entry. The closing date for entries is Friday 4th November via Swim Manager - entries will not be able to be submitted after this date. The Chorley Marlins Distance Meet will take place on Sunday 20th November, the day after the Blackpool Lights meet. Therefore, Marlins swimmers should only enter the 50 and 100m events at Blackpool, and instead enter the distance events at the Marlins gala.
We would like to see all Chorley Marlins members from Development Group and squads, entering our Distance Meet when entries open. Thank you Chorley Marlins ASC Entries are now open for the City of Leeds Christmas Cracker 2022, to be held Friday 16th, Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th December, at John Charles Centre for Sport, Leeds. This Is a long course meet and has proved popular in recent years, with great feedback from our swimmers, parents and coaches. The meet is open to all swimmers in Alphas and above. Upper time limits only apply, these can be found attached. Please ensure times are included on your entry, entries cannot be submitted without a current time. Entries are now open for Blackpool Lights 2022 taking place on Saturday 19th November at Palatine Leisure Centre, Saint Annes Road, Blackpool FY4 2AP. Chorley Marlins will only be accepting entries for session 1 & 2, taking place on Saturday 19th November. Open to members from Alphas, Improvers, Intermediates, Juniors, Junior District and District squads. Qualifying times apply, please see consideration times in the attached documents. (8:45 am at the earliest). The cafe will be open for light refreshments in the reception area. Good luck to everyone taking part. There will be no training on Monday 19th September. The state funeral for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will take place on Monday and will be a national bank holiday. This will allow individuals, businesses and other organisations to pay their respects to Her Majesty and commemorate Her reign, while marking the final day of the period of national mourning. All Seasons Leisure Centre, Clayton Green Sports Centre, Brinscall Swimming Pool and West Way Sports Hub will be closed that day.
