We are pleased to confirm that Chorley Marlins will be back training from Monday 12th April. Below is the training schedule for the first four weeks back for swimmers who have renewed their Swim England membership so are insured to swim. Saturday's from 17th April: Unfortunately, our traditional pool time for Minis at All Seasons Chorley on Saturdays 5-7 pm is not available as the Leisure Centre will reopen again with limited opening hours at weekends. Fortunately, Leyland Leisure Centre has been accommodating and Mary has managed to arrange pool time there for Minis on Saturday afternoons 2-3 pm from Saturday 17th April. The lesson time at Leyland in the above table is based on the previous time and teacher at Chorley All Seasons. Can all Minis please confirm their lesson time and teacher with Mary by emailing [email protected] From Monday 12th April: Due to restrictions on the number swimmers allowed in lanes, training sessions have been allocated to swimmers who have renewed their Swim England membership. We cannot guarantee space if you have not renewed.
Volunteers To facilitate the return to training we are looking for volunteers again to meet and greet the swimmers on arrival and to be there at the end of the session to escort them out. Can any volunteers please contact Claire by email, [email protected] All help greatly appreciated. Fees Can members please restart their standing orders for training fees at the previous levels which can be seen here. We will be operating with reduced capacity in lanes due to the restrictions but will still have the same level of pool fees and expenses to pay so are unable to reduce fees. The above training times are for the first four weeks back and will be reviewed as more pool time becomes available. We hope that the Leisure Centre management / Chorley Council will quickly extend the opening hours and offer us more pool time so that we can return to our traditional training slots and get as many young people back being active as possible. The coaches, teachers and helpers are looking forward to seeing our swimmers back in the pool training again next week. Now that there is a date of 12th April to work toward for the reopening of the pools we have received some more Membership Renewal Forms back. For some of these forms we have not received payment of membership fees so are unable to process and submit to Swim England.
To be able to swim once training resumes swimmers need to have renewed their Swim England membership so that they are insured. The Leisure Centre will open again with reduced opening hours initially. Therefore there will be limited availability of pool time meaning the training schedule will have to be carefully planned. Mary will be allocating pool time based on members who have completed their Swim England membership renewal. For those who want to re-join at a later date there may be a wait until space becomes available. If you wish to renew your membership please do so as soon as possible to secure your place, see here. For those who have not yet made payment but are in credit with their training fees, this can be used to cover their Swim England fee. Please email Bev or Claire if you want this to be used, [email protected] or [email protected] The coaches, teachers and volunteers are looking forward to seeing our swimmers back in the pool training again. An update on the return to training for squads will follow once this has been agreed. Chorley Marlins have joined VMeetSwim, this is an exciting new programme. There are clubs from all over the country and as far away as Hong Kong and America. The programme invites clubs to challenges such as swimming and land based activities. Although we can’t get in the water just yet, there are still opportunities to stay active!
On VMeetSwim the swimmers control their own profile and input the information for challenges they have done. This gives them more control and responsibility and sets goals. They also go on the main rankings and see how they compare to other swimmers. The swimmers must use their own email address, there is no visual contact. We are opening it up to Juniors and above to start with. Have a look at the website site by following the link below. Look at the teams and find Chorley Marlins and sign up.
