In partnership with Lancaster University, Swim England North West are in the process of arranging a number of online workshops for coaches, parents and athletes, of all ages and disciplines.

The introduction session will provide individuals with an overview of the benefits of the programme and how it will be applied to each group. Places will be on a first come first served basis, however we will be recording the session for anyone who is unable to attend. There will also be an opportunity for any Questions and Answers. For individuals who will be on the zoom call together (e.g. families) please only book one place, allowing more individuals the opportunity to sign up. Deadline for booking your place is 9am, Tuesday 16th February 2021. Zoom details will be sent to all registered individuals following the deadline. Date: 17th February, 2021 Start Times: 7:00 pm End Times: 9:00 pm As it is all online members will need an adult with them, no online meetings can be held in bedrooms. Free tickets can be booked on the Swim England North West website here Sports Psychology Programme Introduction - In Partnership with Lancaster University (Online) - Swim England North West (swimnorthwest.org) As some members may have missed the renewal forms sent out by email they are attached below. To comply with the renewal deadline from Swim England we have had the bring the date forward to 14th February. As a club it has been decided that due to the current restrictions all swimmers should renew as a CAT 1 member until competitions resume. Once competitions and leagues resume members who are over the age of 9 years of age or turn 9 years old in 2021 will be asked to upgrade their membership to CAT 2. Swimmers will need to be registered and insured with Swim England to be able to swim once training resumes. If any swimmers do not renew their membership they will no longer be classed as club members and there may be space availability limitations in the future. The Swim England membership fee for CAT 1 is £16.20.
We hope you are keeping well.
As previously notified, Swim England memberships are due for renewal by 14th February 2021 and membership forms have been emailed out. Mary has been on a meeting with other clubs from the North West. Swim England have asked for full membership fees for all members, CAT 2 for age 9 and over. However as a club it has been decided that due to the current restrictions that all swimmers should renew as a CAT 1 member until competitions resume. It is unlikely that galas / competitions will resume for some time after a return to training. Once competitions and leagues do resume members will be asked to upgrade their membership to CAT 2. Swimmers will need to be registered and insured with Swim England to be able to swim once training resumes. If any swimmers do not renew their membership they will no longer be classed as club members. The Swim England membership fees for CAT 1 is £16.20. Stay safe and we hope to see you all soon. Dear Members
Despite the year we have had we hope you are well and are looking forward to returning to the pool, training and competing as soon as we can. It’s that time of year when we look towards membership renewal. Last year has been a difficult one and until we return to training we have decided to put the Chorley Marlins annual membership fees for squads of £30 on hold. The club membership you contributed in 2020, which we are grateful for, has enabled us to continue with our coaches development, with online courses attended by our support team and older swimmers throughout lockdown. We have also had three of our swimming members qualify as level 1 coaches and two qualify as level 1 swim teachers ready for our new season. However we have been contacted by Swim England and renewal fees are due by 14th February 2021. We will be emailing renewal forms to you shortly with details of Swim England membership and once we have returned details for Chorley Marlins membership. We have attached the SE statement for your information. Wishing you all well Regards Chorley Marlins Committee Statement from Swim England explaining the reasons for 2021 membership fees 2020 has been a tough year for Swim England clubs up and down the country. We thank you and all the club’s for the exceptional efforts and support in these challenging times. As announced last month, and in recognition of the difficulties faced by clubs, Swim England membership fee for 2021 has been frozen. 2021 Swim England Fees are: Under 9: Cat1: £16.20 Age 9 and above Cat2: £34.75. Non Swimmers Cat3: £12.20 We are committed to continuing to deliver strong membership and club support services to you as well as preparing for a return to all levels of competition in 2021. The membership fees we receive from your club will help us deliver the return to competitive action we are all so desperate for, support our clubs and continue to be the loud voice fighting for the support our pools and clubs need going forward. Kind regards Swim England Membership Team With the news that Lancashire has been moved into Tier 4, all gyms and leisure centres have now been instructed to close. This means All Seasons and Brinscall Swimming Pool are now closed until further notice. Therefore, our plans to resume training in January have had to be put on hold.
There is no indication of how long restrictions will remain in place for this time apart from Boris Johnson saying that by Easter “we really are confident that things will be very, very much better. And obviously we’ll try and bring that date forward as fast as we can.” We really hope it will not be that long until Chorley Marlins can be back in the pool. Stay safe and we hope to see you all soon. Happy New Year Wishing you and your families a happy and safe Christmas from all at Chorley Marlins.
We would like to thank you for your commitment and ongoing support during what has been a difficult year for all. There has been a good a good response to our planned return to training from 4th January, thank you to those who have confirmed their place. Anybody who is planning on returning to training and has not yet confirmed please see here. The training schedule will be communicated nearer the time. We look forward to seeing you back at training in the new year, hopefully 2021 will be a much better year. As we plan for the return of Chorley Marlins training from 4th January 2021, we need to know accurately which members will be returning so that the training schedule can be prepared.
We will still have a limited amount of pool time available to us which needs to be fully utilised so that squads receive as much training as possible and there continues to be restrictions on the number of swimmers that can be accommodated in sessions. After some of the previous closures some members who have said they would return did not. Therefore, we are asking members for £5 retainer to be deposited in December to show a commitment to returning to swimming in January. This amount will be deducted from membership fees next year. This applies to all squads and Mini Marlins. Until the leisure centre management allows a return to training on Saturday evenings at All Seasons Chorley, Minis is likely to be at Brinscall Swimming Pool on a Saturday morning. Please make a transfer to the following Marlins account to confirm your membership: Sort Code: 20-69-85 A/c Number: 73040828 A/c Name: Chorley Marlins ASC. Please add the swimmers name as reference. Any questions regarding payment please email [email protected] or to let us know that you will be returning at a later date. We look forward to seeing as many members back training as possible in January. We hope you and your families are keeping well.
As Lockdown 2 is due to come to an end next week we would like to update you on training. Training is normally suspended for two weeks in December for the Christmas break and sessions normally have lower attendance levels, therefore we have decided to delay the resumption of Chorley Marlins training until week commencing 4th January 2021. We will provide further details of this nearer the time. Some members have made payment for November training fees, this can be carried forwards or a refund can be requested by emailing [email protected] Our hope is that in 2021 the situation will improve and that training will return to normal levels as more pool time becomes available and restrictions are eased. Swim England has produced a roadmap for the return to swimming competition with Level 4 competitions delivered by clubs in the first instance once government guidelines and the situation re the pandemic allows. There is work to do to build the Club after a very challenging year and we would like to hear from anyone who could give some time to help out and there are opportunities to get involved with the Committee. Thank you for your continued support. Unfortunately, due to the second national lockdown restrictions all our training sessions will remain suspended.
We hope to resume training in early December subject to any further Government announcements and the reopening of the swimming pools. During the lockdown period Chorley Marlins Covid-19 Protocols will be reviewed. We will work with the Leisure Centre management and the Council to plan for a safe return to training at the earliest opportunity. We know this is disappointing and how important swimming is to so many of our members who have worked hard to regain their fitness after the first lockdown. Remaining active and healthy is a key part of the battle against Covid-19. It continues to be a challenging time for grassroots sport clubs and leisure facilities which are essential so that everyone continues to have the opportunity to participate in the sports they love and be physically active. You can read and sign Swim England's open letter to the Prime Minister here. We hope you and your families remain safe and well during this trying time. Thank you for your continued support. Mini Marlins and Development Group sessions resume on Saturday morning at Brinscall Swimming Pool.
Can monthly standing orders for fees please be restarted for these sessions. Mini Marlins £22.00 Development £26.50 Sort Code: 20-69-85 A/c Number: 73040828 A/c Name: Chorley Marlins ASC. Please add the swimmers name as reference. Swimming times are as follows based on their pre lockdown session: |
